Podcast 1 As I was listening to this first podcast, it made me look at teaching/education at a whole new light. I've never heard a story of a teacher in a fighting class that helps prepare them fight battle for their students. I think this is very awesome of Joseph Laycock because he takes teaching to a whole new level. He doesn't want to actually just teach his students but he wants to protect them. I think teachers can grow very fond of their profession and students and if they're willing to take the next step, like he did, you couldn't be a better person in my opinion. Podcast 2 In Michael's opening line of his essay, "I believe that education has the power to transform a person’s life", I have to say I definitely agree. For a person like Michael, he knew that was he was doing in life was getting him nowhere and that if he continued his education that he can make something out of nothing. He knows that he wants to be proof of making a better life for himself and turning everything around. I do agree that education can help a person go beyond what they never expected was possible for them. Education is something no one can ever take away from you. Podcast 3 As Felicia states that she learned valuable life lessons about patience, endurance, and faith I think they all play a part in being educated. Her grandmother took the time to learn everything on herself and that says a lot about an education and she never went to school for any of it. I think that those three factors are very important in education because it takes time to become educated and you have to stick through it because the outcome will be better if you just believe you can do it. People still have hard lives these days and make sure to turn everything around by getting an education, and it always seems like they end up happier than they were before they got their education.
